Lincoln County coach Jeff Jackson started the following lineup: 6-3 Jr. Luke Hill, 5-9 Fr. Timmy Taylor, 6-4 Sr. Micah Ward, 5-7 Jr. Carl Lewis Cummins, and 5-8 Sr. Trenton Edgington.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Sr. Craig Floyd, 5-10 Sr. Rashad Bennett, 6-6 Sr. Patrick Keller, 5-10 Sr. Ross Muncy, and 5-10 Sr. Bryan Woomer.

Dillon Avare hit a three point basket as time expired to give Lexington Catholic a 50-48 victory over Lincoln County.  Lincoln County led 23-22 at halftime and led by Trenton Edgington’s 14 points in the third quarter led 42-29 after three quarters.  Lexington Catholic led by Jack Whitman and Bryan Woomer with nine and six points respectively in the final quarter came back to trail 48-44 with 1:35 left on the clock.  Bryan Woomer connected on a three point basket to cut the deficit to one: 48-47 with 1:01 left in the game.  Lincoln County missed the front end of a one-and-one with 19 seconds on the clock and LexCath rebounded and got a timeout with 10.8 seconds on the clock.  Lincoln County played solid defense but Dillon Avare got a good look at the basket and calmly drained the game winner to complete the long comeback.

Lexington Catholic shot 47.4% from the field including seven of 19 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on seven of 14 free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 14 Lincoln County turnovers.  Lincoln County shot 46.2% from the field including 10 of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Patriots connected on two of three free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 10 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

6-9 Jr. Jack Whitman led Lexington Catholic with 16 points and six rebounds.  Craig Floyd added 12 points, all in the first quarter.  Bryan Woomer chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets.

Trenton Edgington led Lincoln County with 22 points including six three point baskets.  Luke Hill added eight points and nine rebounds.  6-1 Fr. Jacob Conway also recorded eight points including two three point baskets.

Lexington Catholic  12  10   7  21 – 50

 

Lincoln County (48) – Hill 8, Taylor 3, Ward 2, Cummins 5, Edgington 22, Conway 8.

 

Lexington Catholic (50) – Floyd 12, Bennett 0, Keller 3, Muncy 0, Woomer 9, Whitman 16, Avare 6, Ryan 2, Banahan 2.
