Lafayette  vs.  Henry Clay

Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 6-8 Jr. Nick Trisko, 6-7 Jr. Ethan Burlingham, 6-8 So. Jackson Davis, 6-0 So. Lance Blakley, and 6-3 Jr. Tranard Chester.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-4 Sr. Joe Claybrook, 6-1 Sr. Alex Blackburn, 6-5 Jr. Darien Tichenor, 5-8 Sr. Wes Kimball, and 5-10 Sr. Creed Setzer.

Henry Clay led 39-25 at halftime but Lafayette rallied to earn a 58-56 decision over the Blue Devils.  Henry Clay shot 55.6% in the first half and 20% in the second half while Lafayette shot 37% in the first half and 56% in the second half.  There were eight lead changes and five ties in the game.  Henry Clay had a late change to tie or win but a three point attempt missed the mark.

Lafayette shot 46.2% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on eight of 17 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 15 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 38.5% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devils connected on 14 of 25 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 19 Lafayette turnovers.

Jackson Davis led Lafayette with 19 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  6-5 Fr. Shon Wright added 11 points and three rebounds.  Tranard Chester chipped in with 10 points and three steals.

Wes Kimball led Henry Clay with 17 points.  6-4 So. Jordan Green added 12 points and four rebounds.  Alex Blackburn chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.  6-6 So. Trey Grundy recorded four points, six rebounds, three assists, and six steals.  Darien Tichenor added six rebounds, six blocked shots, and three steals.
