Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Patrick Keller, 6-5 Sr. Craig Floyd, 6-9 Jr. Jack Whitman, 5-10 Jr. Dillon Avare, and 5-10 Sr. Bryan Woomer. Wayne County coach Rodney Woods countered with 6-0 Jr. Dagan Shelton, 6-0 Jr. Kyle Gehring, 6-1 8th grader Corey Stearns, 5-10 8th grader Trey Blevins, and 5-10 So. Jason Perkins.
Lexington Catholic defeated Wayne County by a score of 81-63. Lexington Catholic shot 50.9% from the field including 10 of 26 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 20 Wayne County turnovers. Wayne County shot 42.3% from the field including eight of 18 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Jack Whitman led Lexington Catholic with 19 points, 13 rebounds, and six blocked shots. Patrick Keller added 19 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. Dillon Avare added 18 points on six three point baskets.
Trey Blevins led Wayne County with 27 points including seven three point baskets. Corey Stearns added 11 points.
