Paul L. Dunbar coach Sarah Van Horn started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Lakeena Parks, 5-10 Sr. Morgan McEldowney, 6-2 So. Brooke Todd, 5-2 Jr. Jordin Fender, and 5-2 Jr. Kierra Muhammad. Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning countered with 6-0 Sr. Alex Botkin, 6-0 Sr. Emily Johns, 6-0 Sr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-8 Sr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-9 Jr. Octavia Wilson.
Paul L. Dunbar raced out to a 46-18 halftime lead on their way to a 71-46 victory over Lexington Catholic. Dunbar’s quickness and the outside bombing of Morgan McEldowney (6 of 6 from beyond the arc) spelled doom for the Lady Knights tonight. Dunbar shot 55.8% from the field including six of nine from the three point line. The Lady Bulldogs connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 18 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 29.8% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc. The Lady Knights connected on 14 of 20 from the free throw line, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 17 Dunbar turnovers.
Morgan McEldowney led Paul L. Dunbar with 22 points including six three point baskets. McEldowney was seven of 10 from the field including six of six from the three point line, and two of three from the free throw line. Kierra Muhammad and 5-6 Sr. Indya Raglin added 10 points each. Jordin Fender chipped in with nine points and seven steals. Brooke Todd recorded eight points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots.
Octavia Wilson led Lexington Catholic with 17 points including two three point baskets and four assists. Alex Botkin added seven points and seven rebounds. Bonnie Rhule also scored seven points.

Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 6-8 Jr. Nick Trisko, 6-7 Jr. Ethan Burlingham, 6-8 So. Jackson Davis, 6-0 So. Lance Blakley, and 6-3 Jr. Tranard Chester. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-6 Sr. Patrick Keller, 6-5 Sr. Craig Floyd, 6-9 Jr. Jack Whitman, 5-10 Jr. Dillon Avare, and 5-10 Sr. Bryan Woomer.
Dillon Avare hit a three point basket at the buzzer to give Lexington Catholic a 40-37 come-from-behind victory over Lafayette. Lafayette led 28-16 at halftime and had outrebounded Lexington Catholic 31-15 and LexCath had shot a dismal 19.2% from the field. Lexington Catholic rallied in the third quarter and trailed 33-29 after three quarters. The score was tied 37-37 at the 1:24 mark on a Craig Floyd basket resulting from a steal by Bryan Woomer. Lexington Catholic missed two free throws with 37.4 seconds remaining in the game and Lafayette called a timeout with 13.4 seconds on the clock. Lafayette turned the ball over and Lexington Catholic called timeout with 10.7 seconds on the clock. Lafayette had fouls to give and committed two fouls with Lexington Catholic retaining possession of the ball. Lexington Catholic inbounded the ball with approximately three seconds remaining on the clock and Dillon Avare’s off-balance shot at the buzzer found the bottom of the net for the 40-37 victory.
Lexington Catholic shot 31.9% from the field including four of 19 from the three point line. The Knights connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 14 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 30.6% from the field including one of eight from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored five points off eight Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lafayette held a 16-6 advantage in second effort points.
Jack Whitman led Lexington Catholic with 14 points, five rebounds, and four blocked shots. Bryan Woomer added eight points and nine assists.
Jackson Davis led Lafayette with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Nick Trisko added nine points and 10 rebounds.
