Madison Southern (11-18) vs. Woodford County (21-11)
Madison Southern coach Summer Simmons started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Hayden Westfall, 5-10 Fr. Rachel Ramey, 5-11 Jr. Sarah Smith, 5-6 Sr. Jordan Renner, and 5-10 Fr. Kristen Hayes. Woodford County coach Jay Lucas countered with 5-11 Jr. Hannah Morgan, 5-9 Fr. Chelsey Ford, 6-1 Jr. Jessica Morgan, 5-5 So. Shelby McDonald, and 5-11 Sr. Catie Fletcher.
Woodford County captured a tough 50-45 decision over upset minded Madison Southern tonight. Woodford County raced out to an 18-7 lead early in the second quarter but Madison Southern rallied to outscore Woodford county 17-10 in the second quarter to knot the score at 23-23 at halftime. Woodford County took a 38-30 lead but Madison Southern rallied and Madison Southern’s Kristen Hayes hit a field goal to tie the score at 42-42 with 5:48 left in the game. Woodford County finally took the lead for good on a field goal by Chelsey Ford to give Woodford County a 44-42 lead with 4:57 left in the game. There were two lead changes and five ties in this game.
Woodford County shot 41.3% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line. The Yellowjackets connected on eight of 15 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Madison Southern turnovers. Madison Southern shot 30.2% from the field including nine of 27 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on four of six free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 14 Woodford County turnovers. Madison Southern held a 22-9 advantage in bench points.
Chelsey Ford led Woodford County with 13 points, five rebounds, and five steals. Shelby McDonald added 12 points, four rebounds, and four steals. Catie Fletcher and 5-5 Fr. Anastayzia Reed chipped in with nine points each. Reed recorded three three point baskets. Jessica Morgan recorded four points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots.
Kristen Hayes led Madison Southern with 11 points and 11 rebounds. 5-4 Fr. Kelley Freeman added nine points on three three point baskets. 5-9 8th grader Briana Lanham recorded eight points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Rachel Ramey chipped in with seven points.

Scott County (13-19) vs. Paul L. Dunbar (25-6)
Scott County coach Steve Helton started the following lineup: 6-0 So. Tereka Guyn, 5-9 Sr. Mary Logsdon, 6-0 So. Iman Guy, 5-6 Sr. Ally Conrad, and 5-6 So. Audriana Christopher. Paul L. Dunbar coach Sarah Van Horn countered with 5-10 Sr. Morgan McEldowney, 5-10 Jr. Lakeena Parks, 6-2 So. Brooke Todd, 5-2 Jr. Jordin Fender, and 5-2 Jr. Kierra Muhammad.
Paul L, Dunbar defeated Scott County by a score of 60-54. Dunbar led 23-9 in the second quarter but Scott County refused to give up and took a 50-49 lead on two free throws by Tereka Guyn with 1:32 left in the game. However Dunbar buoyed by several free throws outscored Scott County 11-4 over the last 1:23 of the game to earn the victory. Dunbar’s Jordin Fender was limited to two points and 12 minutes of time tonight due to an injury. Scott County stayed in the game as a result of their outstanding work on the boards as they outrebounded Dunbar 62-37. There were 10 lead changes and seven ties in this game.
Dunbar shot 30.6% from the field including four of 18 from the three point line. The Bulldogs connected on 18 of 26 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 22 Scott County turnovers. Scott County shot 32.4% from the field including one of 12 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on nine of 17 free throws, pulled down 62 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Dunbar turnovers.
Kierra Muhammad led Dunbar with 14 points, three rebounds, six assists, and seven steals. 5-2 So. Shakeema Jackson added 14 points including three three point baskets. Morgan McEldowney chipped in with 1 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Lakeena Parks added nine points and eight rebounds. 5-6 Jr. Lexus Edwards also recorded nine points.
Tereka Guyn led Scott County with 18 points and 25 rebounds. Mary Logsdon added 14 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Audriana Christopher chipped in with 11 points and five assists. 5-7 So. Danielle Defoor recorded nine points. Iman Guy pulled down 11 rebounds.
