Ballard (22-9)  vs.  Sacred Heart Academy (18-12)

 

Ballard coach Steve Kaufman started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Ki’Ana Richardson, 5-7 Sr. Daryius Franklin, 5-9 So. Dre’a Matchen, 5-7 Fr. Alex Martin, and 5-5 So. Brandy Ray.  Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 5-9 So. DaiJia Ruffin, 5-6 So. Raven Merriweather, 6-1 Sr. Jazmin Smith, 5-7 Jr. Kristin Matula, and 5-7 Sr. Jade Tubb.

 

Sacred Heart Academy defeated Ballard by a score of 65-60.  Sacred Heart shot 49% from the field including two of five from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 15 of 27 from the free throw line, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 17 Ballard turnovers.  The Valkyries held a 21-2 advantage in bench scoring.  Ballard shot 32.2% from the field including two of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bruins connected on 20 of 27 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 19 Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

DaiJia Ruffin led Sacred Heart with 15 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.  Jazmin Smith added 11 points, five blocked shots, and three steals.  5-6 Sr. Erica Walsh and 5-9 Sr. Sandy Gahafer chipped in with 10 and nine points respectively.  Raven Merriweather recorded seven points, eight rebounds, nine assists, and four steals.

 

Alex Martin and Daryius Franklin led Ballard with 17 points each.  Ki’Ana Richardson added 12 points and 15 rebounds.  Dre’a Matchen chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Presentation Academy (16-15)  vs.  Assumption (15-13)

 

Presentation Academy coach David Jackson started the following lineup: 5-7 Sr. Shelby Adams, 5-7 Sr. Olivia Obst, 5-5 Jr. Peyton Andres, 5-7 Sr. Bailey Reeder, and 5-6 Sr. Ashlee Kirchner.  Assumption coach Steve Small countered with 5-11 Sr. Morgan Foley, 5-8 Jr. Katie Friedrich, 5-11 Jr. Kelsey Kaiser, 5-6 Sr. Becca Durbin, and 5-4 Jr. Brandy Hunter. 

 

Assumption defeated Presentation Academy by a score of 58-53.  There were 10 lead changes and three ties in this game.  Assumption shot 40.4% from the field including three of eight from the three point line.  The Rockets connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 13 points off nine Presentation Academy turnovers.  Assumption held an 18-7 advantage in second effort points.  Presentation Academy shot 37% from the field including 10 of 30 from beyond the arc.  The Toppers connected on three of eight free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 15 Assumption turnovers.

 

6-6 Fr. Nora Kiesler led Assumption with 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Katie Friedrich added 11 points and nine rebounds.  Brandy Hunter also scored 11 points including two three point baskets.  Morgan Foley recorded eight points and seven rebounds.

 

5-7 So. Aliyah Johnson led Presentation Academy with 14 points including four three point baskets.  Bailey Reeder added 12 points and six assists.  Ashlee Kirchner chipped in with eight points and five rebounds.  Shelby Adams recorded seven points and eight rebounds.

Seneca (11-15)  vs.  DuPont Manual (30-2)

 

Seneca coach Latasha Peterson started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Niya Anderson, 5-8 Jr. Jada Grady, 6-1 Jr. Kearra Pennie, 5-4 Jr. Jenna Meredith, and 5-5 Fr. Kadiesha Fant.  DuPont Manual coach Stacy Pendleton countered with 5-11 Sr. Kara Wright, 5-8 Sr. Lauren Bodine, 6-1 Jr. Kayla Styles, 5-7 Sr. Leasia Wright, and 5-8 Sr. April Wilson.

 

DuPont Manual scored 41 points off 32 Seneca turnovers in a 89-41 victory.  Manual shot 47.4% from the field including seven of 29 from the three point line.  The Lady Crimsons connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and attempted 34 more shots (76-42) from the field than Seneca.  Seneca shot 38.1% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Redhawks connected on seven of 13 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored nine points off 12 Manual turnovers.

 

Kara Wright led Manual with 14 points and seven rebounds.  Leasia Wright added 12 points and six steals.  5-7 Jr. Destony Curry chipped in with 11 points.  Lauren Bodine, 5-4 Fr. Teanna Curry, and 5-7 Jr. Morgan Allen each recorded eight points.

 

6-0 Jr. Sabrina Jackson led Seneca with 22 points and nine rebounds.  Jackson was nine of 12 from the field and four of 10 from the free throw line.  Jenna Meredith added seven points.

Male (16-13)  vs.  Christian Academy of Louisville (20-12)

 

Male coach Jeff Sparks started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Brittinee Jones, 5-7 Sr. Katie Watson, 5-9 Sr. Andrea Owen, 5-6 Jr. Jasmine Kraft, and 5-4 Sr. Taylor Messex.  CAL coach Don Rice countered with 5-11 Jr. China Dow, 5-8 Jr. Chalisa Helm, 6-0 So. McKenzie Campbell, 5-6 So. Lindsey Dunn, and 5-8 Sr. Paige Gardner.

 

Christian Academy of Louisville eked out a 52-49 victory over Male.  There were 16 lead changes and six ties in this game.  Male led 36-35 after three quarters but CAL rallied for the victory.  CAL shot 39.1% from the field including four of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Centurions connected on 12 of 20 from the free throw line, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 22 Male turnovers.  Male shot 48.6% from the field including four of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 20 CAL turnovers.

 

China Dow led CAL with 16 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  5-10 Jr. Tatyianna Taylor added 11 points and nine rebounds.  Paige Gardner chipped in with nine points.

 

Andrea Owen led Male with 18 points including three three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Katie Watson and 5-7 Fr. Taylor Jackson each scored 10 points.
