Lexington Catholic (20-11)  vs.  Madison Central (26-4)

 

Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Alex Botkin, 6-0 Sr. Emily Johns, 6-0 Sr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-8 Sr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-9 Jr. Octavia Wilson.  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 6-2 Jr. Ashton Feldhaus, 5-9 Jr. Heather Hinkle, 5-10 Sr. Kristen Congleton, 5-5 Jr. Larryn Brooks, and 5-6 Sr. Ashley Hinkle.

 

Madison Central defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 43-33.  Lexington Catholic led 33-30 at the 5:38 point in the final quarter but Madison Central finished the game on a 13-0 run to earn the victory.  Lexington Catholic was zero of eight from the field in the final quarter.  Madison Central shot 30.6% from the field including one of 13 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 25.6% from the field including three of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 10 points off nine Madison Central turnovers.

 

Larryn Brooks led Madison Central with 17 points and six rebounds.  Kristen Congleton added 13 points and 16 rebounds.  Ashton Feldhaus recorded seven points and 10 rebounds.  5-9 Sr. Chrystal Miller chipped in with four points and eight rebounds.

 

Octavia Wilson led Lexington Catholic with 12 points and four rebounds.  Alex Botkin added seven points and nine rebounds.  Elizabeth Walton chipped in with six points.  Emily Johns pulled down six rebounds.

Franklin County (17-15)  vs.  Bryan Station (15-14)

 

Franklin County coach Joey Thacker started the following lineup: 5-9 8th grader Malaka Frank, 5-5 Jr. Raven Timmons, 5-9 Jr. Megan Gearhart, 5-7 Jr. Lauren Taylor, and 5-8 8th grader Dasia Kilbourne.  Bryan Station coach Donna Murphy countered with 5-10 Jr. Brittany Williams, 5-10 So. Victoria McCoy, 5-11 8th grader Bairesha Gill, 5-6 Jr. Labianca Frazier, and 5-8 Jr. Serena Sandusky.

 

Bryan Station pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Franklin County by a score of 46-39.  Bryan Station shot 30% from the field including one of three from the three point line.  The Defenders connected on 15 of 24 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 17 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 26.2% from the field including one of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Flyers connected on 16 of 25 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 18 Bryan Station turnovers.

 

Serena Sandusky led Bryan Station with 18 points and nine rebounds.  Brittany Williams added 12 points and five rebounds.  Victoria McCoy recorded eight points, 12 rebounds, and two blocked shots.

 

Dasia Kilbourne led Franklin County with 15 points.  Raven Timmons added 11 points, six rebounds, and three steals.  Malaka Frank recorded six points, seven rebounds, and five steals.
