Madison Southern (10-19)  vs.  Franklin County (16-15)

 

Madison Southern coach Shane Buttry started the following lineup: 6-2 Jr. Spencer Stone, 6-1 Jr. Tyler Abshear, 6-3 Jr. Brandon McGuire, 5-11 Sr. Chris Roberts, and 5-10 Fr. Damien Harris.  Franklin County coach Scott Chalk countered with 6-5 Sr. Garrett Hamilton, 6-3 Sr. Eric Meyer, 6-3 So. Chris Roberts, 5-10 Jr. Casey Tabor, and 5-11 Jr. Ryan Timmons.

 

Franklin County’s Chris Roberts hit a layup with 19 seconds left on the clock to give Franklin County a 50-48 come-from-behind victory over Madison Southern. Madison Southern missed a late shot and Franklin County held on for the victory. Madison Southern led 35-25 in the third quarter before Franklin County rallied for the victory.  Franklin County went scoreless in the second quarter.  There were eight lead changes and seven ties in the game.

 

Franklin County shot 43.4% from the field including four of 14 from the three point line.  The Flyers missed their only free throw attempt, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored eight points off 13 Madison Southern turnovers.  Madison Southern shot 39.6% from the field including five of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 15 Franklin County turnovers.

 

Ryan Timmons led Franklin County with 14 points, six rebounds, and six assists.  Chris Roberts added 12 points and 14 rebounds.  Roberts was six of eight from the field.  Eric Meyer chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.

 

Tyler Abshear led Madison Southern with 12 points, six rebounds, and six assists.  Chris Roberts added 11 points including three three point baskets and three steals.  Damien Harris chipped in with eight points.  5-11 Jr. Mike Rothermel recorded six points and six rebounds.

Lafayette (13-18)  vs.  Scott County (28-4)

 

Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III started the following lineup: 6-8 Jr. Nick Trisko, 6-7 Jr. Ethan Burlingham, 6-8 So. Jackson Davis, 6-0 So. Lance Blakley, and 6-3 Jr. Tranard Chester.  Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-5 Sr. Tamron Manning, 6-3 Sr. Isaiah Ivey, 6-4 Sr. Josh Harris, 6-0 Jr. Quin Richardson, and 6-1 So. Trenton Gilbert.

 

Scott County led 33-30 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for a 77-62 victory over Lafayette.  There were six lead changes and four ties in this game.  Scott County shot 45.5% from the field including seven of 18 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 20 of 27 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 22 Lafayette turnovers.  Scott County attempted 13 more shots (55-42) from the field than Lafayette.  Lafayette shot 57.1% from the field including five of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored seven points off 12 Scott county turnovers.

 

Isaiah Ivey led Scott County with 22 points and seven rebounds.  Ivey was nine of 12 from the field including one of two from the three point line, and three of three free throws.  Trenton Gilbert added 18 points including four three point baskets.  Tamron Manning recorded 13 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and five steals.  Quin Richardson chipped in with 11 points and four assists.

 

6-7 Jr. Charles Sweat-Washington led Lafayette with 21 points and nine rebounds.  Sweat-Washington was eight of 11 from the field including two of four from the three point line, and three of four from the free throw line.  Tranard Chester added 12 points including two three point baskets and six assists.  Nick Trisko chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds.  Jackson Davis recorded nine points, four rebounds, and three steals.

Lafayette (62) – Trisko 11, Burlingham 4, Davis 9, Blakley 3, Chester 12, Sweat-Washington 21, Hughes 2.

 

Scott County (77) – Manning 13, Ivey 22, Harris 6, Richardson 11, Gilbert 18, Bryant 5, Haddix 2.
