Paul L. Dunbar (26-6)  vs.  Woodford County (22-11)  (Semifinal)

 

Paul L. Dunbar coach Sarah Van Horn started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Morgan McEldowney, 5-10 Jr. Lakeena Parks, 6-2 So. Brooke Todd, 5-2 Jr. Jordin Fender, and 5-2 Jr. Kierra Muhammad.  Woodford County coach Jay Lucas countered with 5-11 Jr. Hannah Morgan, 5-9 Fr. Chelsey Ford, 6-1 Jr. Jessica Morgan, 5-5 So. Shelby McDonald, and 5-11 Sr. Catie Fletcher.

 

Paul L. Dunbar led 23-22 at halftime and pulled away in the second half to defeat Woodford County by a score of 56-46.  There were eight lead changes and seven ties in the game.  Dunbar shot 38.3% from the field including one of five from the three point line.  The bulldogs connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 23 Woodford County turnovers.  Woodford County shot 29.6% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Yellowjackets connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 15 Dunbar turnovers.

 

Brooke Todd led Dunbar with 12 points, five rebounds, and seven blocked shots.  Lakeena Parks added 10 points and 11 rebounds.  5-6 Jr. Lexus Edwards chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.  Kierra Muhammad and 5-2 So. Shakeema Jackson also scored 10 points each.

 

Catie Fletcher led Woodford County with 15 points including seven of eight free throws.  Jessica Morgan added seven points, 12 rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Chelsey Ford chipped in with seven points, 12 rebounds, and three steals.

Bryan Station (16-14)  vs.  Madison Central (27-4)  (Semifinal)

 

Bryan Station coach Donna Murphy started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Brittany Williams, 5-10 So. Victoria McCoy, 5-7 Jr. DeShante Clay, 5-6 Jr. Labianca Frazier, and 5-8 Jr. Serena Sandusky.  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 6-2 Jr. Ashton Feldhaus, 5-9 Jr. Heather Hinkle, 5-10 Sr. Kristen Congleton, 5-5 Jr. Larryn Brooks, and 5-6 Sr. Ashley Hinkle.

 

Madison Central defeated Bryan Station by a score of 52-39.  Madison Central shot 38.8% from the field including two of eight from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 18 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 27.1% from the field including zero of five from beyond the arc.  The Defenders connected on 13 of 24 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 14 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Larryn Brooks led Madison Central with 19 points including eight of nine free throws, five rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.  Ashton Feldhaus added 14 points and five blocked shots.  Kristen Congleton chipped in with eight points, 11 rebounds, and two blocked shots.

 

Serena Sandusky led Bryan Station with 10 points including eight of 10 free throws.  Brittany Williams added nine points and eight rebounds.  Victoria McCoy recorded seven points and 11 rebounds.
