Scott County (30-4)  vs.  Woodford County (22-12)  (Championship)

Scott County coach Billy Hicks started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Tamron Manning, 6-3 Sr. Isaiah Ivey, 6-4 Sr. Josh Harris, 6-0 Jr. Quin Richardson, and 6-1 So. Trenton Gilbert.  Woodford County coach Scott Hundley countered with 6-4 Sr. David Greenwell, 6-4 Sr. Addison Hollin, 6-7 Sr. Jay Johnson, 6-1 Sr. Rodney Gross, and 6-2 Sr. William Starcher.

Scott County rolled to an impressive 78-43 victory over Woodford County tonight.  Scott County raced out to a 9-0 lead at the 5:50 mark in the first quarter and maintained a 37-28 advantage at halftime.  The second half was all Scott County as they outscored Woodford County 41-15 after the intermission as Woodford County could only shoot 18.2% from the field in the second half.  Scott County has peaked at the right time and could make a lot of noise next week at Rupp Arena.  Coach Scott Hundley did a great job with Woodford County playing half the season without one of the best players in the state Jay Johnson due to an injury and knocking off Lexington Catholic and Madison Central to get to the title game tonight.

Scott County shot 56.3% from the field including eight of 13 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 12 Woodford County turnovers.  Woodford County shot 26.3% from the field including two of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Yellowjackets connected on 21 of 29 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored five points off eight Scott County turnovers.

Trenton Gilbert led Scott County with 23 points including five three point baskets.  Gilbert was eight of nine from the field including five of six from the three point line, and two of two from the free throw line.  Quin Richardson added 16 points and five rebounds.  Tamron Manning recorded 14 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists.  Isaiah Ivey chipped in with six points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

Jay Johnson led Woodford County with 21 points including 13 of 20 free throws and eight rebounds.
