Rick Bolus’ High Potential® 15th Annual Girl’s Basketball Showcase Mini-Camp

There are always players at camp that may not receive all-camp honors or may feel they have not been noticed or appreciated.  However, a player’s effort rarely goes unnoticed.  I observed several players this weekend that impressed me and I  believe they will have very good careers on the hardwood.  I will mention a few now and probably more later.

Kaylee Cotton – 5-8 Fr. McCreary Central Stearns KY – Kaylee is very sound fundamentally and a very  good rebounder for her size.  Can hit the outside shot and will battle effectively in the paint.  She has already logged significant varsity time and is poised for an excellent season.

Heidi Huffman – 5-6 Soph. Mercer County Harrodsburg KY – Heidi can score in a variety of ways from the three point range and penetration to the basket.  Heidi is capable of putting up points in a hurry.

Kaci Currens – 5-7 Fr. Anderson County Lawrenceburg KY – Anderson County has a history of young players making an early impact at the varsity level and Kaci is ready to break out after playing against some of the top young talent every day in practice. Used to playing against good competition.

Justus Martin – 6-0 Fr. Shelby County Shelbyville KY – Justus is extremely effective inside and has a very promising future.

Morgan Chestnut – 5-11 Sr. Clay County Manchester KY – Another in a long line of Clay County players who can score in the paint and hit the boards.  Morgan teams up with Cheyenne Madden to give the Lady Tigers an excellent 1-2 punch in the paint.

Kiara Pankins – 5-8 8th Grade Jessie Clark Lexington KY – Played “up” in the senior division and is expected to be very productive for Lafayette in the future.

Mallie Cornett – 5-11 8th Grade Model Lab Richmond KY – Mallie also excels in track & field and has all the tools to make a big impact at the varsity level this season.  Runs the floor, rebounds, and defends.  With added strength as she matures could make her a future star.
