Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Dai Jia Ruffin, 5-6 Jr. Raven Merriweather, 5-7 Sr. Kristin Matula, 5-3 So. Ashley Johnson, and 5-5 Jr. Vanessa Baisas. Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 5-8 Sr. Angela Wickman, 5-8 8th grader Rebecca Cook, 5-9 Fr. Malaka Frank, 5-8 Fr. Dasia Kilbourne, and 5-5 Sr. Raven Timmons.
Sacred Heart defeated Franklin County by a score of 71-53. Sacred Heart shot 49.2% from the field including seven of 13 from the three point line. The Valkyries connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 34 points off 27 Franklin County turnovers. Franklin County shot 40% from the field including three of nine from beyond the arc. The Lady Flyers connected on 18 of 26 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 13 Sacred heart turnovers.
Dai Jia Ruffin led Sacred Heart with 23 points, seven rebounds, and five steals. Ruffin was 10 of 13 from the field and three of six from the free throw line. Kristin Matula added 11 points and six assists. Raven Merriweather chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds.
Raven Timmons led Franklin County with 20 points including four three point baskets and pulled down eight rebounds. Rebecca Cook added 11 points and six rebounds and Malaka Frank chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds.
