Ballard  vs.  Scott County (Boys)

Ballard coach Chris Renner started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Zack Coggins, 6-1 So. Jalen Perry, 6-6 Jr. Kelan Martin, 5-11 Sr. Lavonne Holland, and 6-0 Jr. Quinten Snider.  Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-3 Jr. Tony Martini, 6-2 Sr. Tyler Page, 6-9 Sr. Jordan Tribble, 6-2 Jr. Trent Gilbert, and 6-0 Sr. Quin Richardson.

Scott County led 54-53 after three quarters but Ballard rallied in the final quarter to defeat Scott County by a score of 79-70.  This was a very competitive game between two of the best programs in the state with 10 lead changes and 11 ties in tonight’s contest.  Ballard shot 51% from the field including two of nine from the three point line.  The Bruins connected on 27 of 34 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 21 Ballard turnovers.  Scott County shot 50% from the field including five of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 15 Ballard turnovers.

Quinten Snider led Ballard with 20 points, five rebounds, and five steals.  Kelan Martin added 16 points and Lavonne Holland chipped in with 15 points and five rebounds.  Jalen Perry recorded 13 points and six rebounds.  Zack Coggins also reached double figures with 10 points.

Quin Richardson led Scott County with 23 points including three three point baskets.  Trent Gilbert added 11 points and Jalen Haddix chipped in with 10 points.  Jordan Tribble recorded seven points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots despite being plagued by foul problems all evening.
