Woodford County coach Scott Hundley started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Landen Young, 5-11 Jr. Chris Honabach, 6-5 Sr. Chase Henderlight, 5-7 Sr. George Cole, and 5-11 Jr. Eli Boggess. Tates Creek coach Wayne Breeden countered with 6-4 Sr. Braxton McFarland, 6-4 Jr. Evan Davis, 6-5 So. Jordan Fucci, 5-11 So. Desmond Duke, and 6-1 Sr. Vincent Mattox.
Woodford County trailed 29-22 at halftime but rallied for a 55-48 victory over Tates Creek. The Yellow Jackets led by Jalin Raglin’s six points outscored Tates Creek 14-5 in the third quarter to take a 36-34 lead entering the final quarter. Landen Young scored nine points in the final quarter as Woodford County pulled away for the victory.
Woodford County shot 36.7% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line. The Yellow Jackets connected on 15 of 24 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds and scored 15 points off 16 Tates Creek turnovers. Tates Creek shot 35.4% from the field including three of 16 from beyond the arc. The Commodores connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds and scored 11 points off 10 Woodford County turnovers.
Chris Honabach led Woodford County with 13 points. 6-0 Sr. Jalin Ragland added 12 points and four steals. Landen Young recorded 11 point sand 11 rebounds.
Jordan Fucci led Tates Creek with 15 points and nine rebounds. Braxton McFarland added 12 points and seven rebounds. Vincent Mattox recorded nine points and nine rebounds.
