Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford started the following lineup: 5-9 So. Kerrigan Davis, 5-6 So. Jazmine Richmond, 5-9 Jr. Areanna Porter, 5-6 So. Destiny Carter, and 5-6 Fr. T’laya Lyvers.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 6-0 Jr. Sarah Cooley, 5-11 So. Dee Givens, 6-3 So. Ashanti Thomas, 5-6 Jr. Megumi Nagahiro, and 5-7 Jr. Ken’yale Demus.

Destiny Carter hit a basket in the closing seconds of the game to give Henry Clay a 51-49 victory over Lafayette.  Henry Clay got a defensive stop (blocked shot) on a last second Lafayette shot to ensure the victory.  There were seven lead changes and nine ties in the game.  Henry Clay shot 41.2% from the field including four of six from the three point line.  The Lady Devils connected on five of five free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 23 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 52.8% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on eight of 13 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 19 Henry Clay turnovers.

T’laya Lyvers led Henry Clay with 20 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and three steals.  Destiny Carter added nine points.

Sarah Cooley led Lafayette with 20 points and four rebounds.  Cooley was nine of 13 from the field including zero of one from beyond the arc, and two of four free throws.  Ken’yale Demus added 12 points.  Dee Givens chipped in with 10 points, five rebounds, and four steals.  Ashanti Thomas recorded five points, six rebounds, four assists, and eight blocked shots.
