2012 Republic Bank Holiday Classic (Girls)  December 19th Day #1

 

East Carter 49  Magoffin County 42 – East Carter outscored Magoffin County 16-9 in the final quarter to earn a victory in a hotly contested game.  The score was tied nine times and there were 15 lead changes.  Magoffin County was without the services of 5-2 Jr. Jamie Castle who is out with an injury.  5-10 So. Megan Stickler led East Carter with 19 points.  5-5 8th grader Kristin Mayo added 13 points and six assists and 5-8 Jr. Bryana Greenhill chipped in with seven points.  6-1 So. Kelsey Stumbo recorded six points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.  5-4 Fr. Jasmine Howard led Magoffin County with 14 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.  5-7 Sr. Morgan Arnett added 10 points and six rebounds.  5-6 Sr. Linzi Wilson pulled down 10 rebounds.

 

Lafayette 68  St. Patrick 48 – Lafayette defeated a scrappy but outmanned St. Patrick squad tonight as St. Patrick only had seven players on the roster and gave up a lot of size.  6-3 So. Ashanti Thomas led Lafayette with 17 points and three blocked shots.  6-0 Jr. Sarah Cooley added 12 points and 15 rebounds and 5-8 Jr. Ken’yale Demus chipped in with 11 points.  5-9 8th grader Kiara Pankins came up big tonight with 13 points.  5-8 Sr. McKayla Likins led St. Patrick with 23 points and six rebounds.  5-4 Sr. Jessica Fowler added 11 points and six rebounds.

 

Bryan Station 51  Bourbon County 39 – Bryan Station outscored Bourbon County 17-7 in the second quarter on their way to victory.  5-8 Sr. Serena Sandusky led Bryan Station with 21 points including three three point baskets and four steals.  5-10 Jr. Victoria McCoy added 12 points and four steals.  5-11 Fr. Bairesha Gill recorded eight points and nine rebounds.  5-8 So. Asia Sims led Bourbon County with 14 points and nine rebounds.  5-8 Jr. Jessica Stamper added 13 points and seven rebounds and 5-8 Fr. Anovia Byars recorded eight points and six rebounds.

 

LaRue County 63  Campbell County 53 – LaRue County trailed 32-27 at halftime but rallied for the victory..  Campbell County connected on six of nine three point attempts in the first half to lead at halftime.  The story tonight was 6-0 Jr. Ivy Brown who led LaRue County with 34 points including 15 of 18 from the free throw line and pulled down 11 rebounds.  Brown also recorded three assists and six steals.  5-10 So. Alexis Brewer added 10 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  5-8 Sr. Taylor Robinson led Campbell County with 13 points and four rebounds.  6-3 Sr. Kaytlin Siegmundt added 10 points and six rebounds.  LaRue County held a 23-2 advantage in free throw points.
