Scott County coach Steve Helton started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Laura Szorenyi, 5-7 Jr. Danielle DeFoor, 6-0 Jr. Tereka Guyn, 5-6 Jr. Rachel Young, and 5-7 8th grade Lauren Boehm. Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford countered with 5-9 So. Kerrigan Davis, 5-6 So. Jazmine Richmond, 5-10 Jr. Areanna Porter, 5-6 Fr. T’laya Lyvers, and 5-6 So. Destiny Carter.
Laura Szorenyi stole the ball and dished to Danielle DeFoor for a basket with 18 seconds remaining in the game that gave Scott County a 66-65 lead on their way to a 67-65 come-from-behind victory over Henry Clay. Henry Clay led 22-9 early in the second quarter and 49-41 after three quarters before Scott County launched their comeback. This game turned into a foul fest as there were 59 fouls called and a total of 94 free throws attempted. Five Henry Clay players (T’laya Lyvers, Destiny Carter, Kerrigan Davis, Areanna Porter, and Hannah Young) fouled out of the contest and Tereka Guyn fouled out for Scott County.
Scott County shot 29.8% from the field including one of 10 from the three point line. The Lady Cardinals connected on 38 of 59 free throws, pulled down 52 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 12 Henry Clay turnovers. Henry Clay shot 34.9% from the field including one of 12 from beyond the arc. The Lady Blue Devils connected on 20 of 35 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 21 Scott County turnovers.
Tereka Guyn led Scott County with 30 points including 22 of 25 free throws and 10 rebounds. Laura Szorenyi added 13 points. Rachel Young recorded nine points and 10 rebounds. 6-0 Jr. Iman Guy pulled down eight rebounds.
5-3 So. Kennedy Coney led Henry Clay with 18 points. T’laya Lyvers added 15 points and five rebounds. 5-8 Jr. Kamari Boyd recorded eight points and 12 rebounds.
