Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Ashton Feldhaus, 5-9 Sr. Heather Hinkle, 6-2 Jr. Shadae Bosley, 5-5 Jr. Bailey O’Bryan, and 5-5 Sr. Larryn Brooks. Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 6-0 Jr. Tereka Guyn, 5-8 Sr. Laura Szorenyi, 6-0 Jr. Iman Guy, 5-7 8th grade Lauren Boehm, and 5-6 Jr. Rachel Young. Note: Scott County was without two starters in Audriana Christopher (ACL) and Danielle DeFoor.
Madison Central defeated Scott County by a score of 70-53. Madison Central shot 45.6% from the field including four of 17 from the three point line. The Indians connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored eight points off 15 Scott County turnovers. Scott County shot 29.3% from the field including three of 16 from beyond the arc. The Lady Cardinals connected on six of 14 free throws, pulled down 56 rebounds, and scored eight points off eight Madison Central turnovers. Scott County attempted 18 more shots (75-57) from the field than Madison Central.
Larryn Brooks led Madison Central with 22 points, seven assists, and six steals. Brooks was seven of 12 from the field including zero of two from the three point line, and eight of eight from the free throw line. Ashton Feldhaus added 18 points and 12 rebounds. Bailey O’Bryan chipped in with 15 points.
Tereka Guyn led Scott County with 24 points and 16 rebounds. Iman Guy added 12 points and nine rebounds. Rachel Young pulled down seven rebounds and dished out seven assists.
