Tates Creek coach Wayne Breeden started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Braxton McFarland, 6-2 Jr. Ian Davis, 6-5 So. Jordan Fucci, 5-11 So. Desmond Duke, and 6-1 Sr. Vincent Mattox. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 So. Tanner Johnson, 6-4 So. Reese Ryan, 6-9 Sr. Jack Whitman, 5-9 So. Michael Talbott, and 5-11 Sr. Dillon Avare.
Lexington Catholic pulled away in the second half to defeat Tates Creek by a score of 65-51. Lexington Catholic shot 45.1% from the field including five of 18 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 14 of 17 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 17 Tates Creek turnovers. Tates Creek shot 47.7% from the field including three of 12 from beyond the arc. The Commodores connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored four points off seven Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Jack Whitman led Lexington Catholic with 23 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots. Whitman was nine of 10 from the field and five of seven from the free throw line. Dillon Avare added 12 points on four three point baskets. Tanner Johnson recorded 12 points and five steals.
Vincent Mattox led Tates Creek with 18 points. Mattox was nine of 12 from the field. Jordan Fucci added 10 points and 11 rebounds.
