Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Sarah Bridenbaugh started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Joia Pollard, 5-8 Sr. Lexus Edwards, 6-2 Jr. Brooke Todd, 5-4 Jr. Shakeema Jackson, and 5-4 Sr. Kierra Muhammad. Tates Creek coach Tina Winn countered with 5-8 Sr. Dominique Etling-Turner, 5-6 So. Haley Blackburn, 5-9 Sr. Katie Pippen, 5-5 Sr. Lexi Whaley, and 5-6 Sr. Oney Harrison.
Tates Creek captured a big victory at home with a 53-50 victory over Paul Laurence Dunbar. There were seven lead changes and four ties in this contest. Tates Creek shot 36.4% from the field including three of eight from the three point line. The Lady Commodores connected on 10 of 21 free throws, pulled down 54 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Dunbar turnovers. Dunbar shot 33.9% from the field including five of 15 from beyond the arc. The Lady Bulldogs connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored nine points off 16 Tates Creek turnovers.
Dominique Etling-Turner led Tates Creek with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Oney Harrison added 15 points and six rebounds. Katie Pippen recorded 14 points and 13 rebounds. Haley Blackburn chipped in with four points, seven rebounds, two assists, and three blocked shots.
Lexus Edwards led Dunbar with 19 points and five rebounds. Shakeema Jackson added 14 points including four three point baskets. Kierra Muhammad dished out six assists.
