Model coach Wes Scarberry started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Jesse Middleton, 5-11 Sr. Brendon Hill, 6-4 Sr. Jon Ballard, 5-8 Sr. Anthony Gerald, and 5-10 Sr. A.J. Hammons. Lexington Christian Academy coach Brad Carter countered with 6- So. Matt Rose, 6-2 Sr. Taylor Blair, 6-3 So. Benton Nighbert, 5-9 So. Drew Schacht, and 5-10 Sr. Tyler Harville.
Model trailed 32-19 in the second quarter and 49-39 at the end of three quarters but rallied in the final quarter to defeat Lexington Christian Academy by a score of 62-55. Model shot 30.5% from the field including eight of 23 from the three point line. The Patriots connected on 18 of 23 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 20 LCA turnovers. LCA shot 44% from the field including eight of 20 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on three of five free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored six points off 13 Model turnovers.
Anthony Gerald led Model with 18 points including three three point baskets and seven rebounds. Jon Ballard recorded 15 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Brendon Hill chipped in with 14 points. A.J. Hammons recorded seven points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Tyler Harville led LCA with 23 points including six three point baskets and six assists. 6-4 Sr. Jon Lannertone added 10 points and nine rebounds. Matt Rose pulled down eight rebounds.
