Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Dai Jia Ruffin, 5-7 Sr. Kristin Matula, 5-10 Sr. Caroline Long, 5-3 So. Ashley Johnson, and 5-3 So. Gretchen Samsel.  Assumption coach Steve Small countered with 5-8 Sr. Katie Friedrich, 5-8 Sr. Kelsey Kaiser, 6-6 So. Nora Kiesler, 5-4 Sr. Brandy Hunter, and 5-7 Sr. Dee Dee Sliter.

Dee Dee Sliter hit two free throws with four seconds left on the clock to give Assumption a 50-48 victory over Sacred Heart Academy.  There were seven lead changes and eight ties in this game.  Assumption led 27-15 at halftime but Sacred Heart battled back in the second half.  Assumption shot 63% from the field and did not attempt a three point basket.  The Rockets connected on 16 of 24 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored five points off 11 Sacred Heart turnovers.  Assumption attempted 25 less shots (52-27) from the field than Sacred Heart.  Sacred Heart shot 36.5% from the field including six of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Valkyries connected on four of 14 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 24 Assumption turnovers.

Dee Dee Sliter led Assumption with 20 points.  Nora Kiesler added 11 points, 12 rebounds, and six blocked shots.  Katie Friedrich recorded 10 points and six rebounds.

Dai Jia Ruffin led Sacred Heart with 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and seven steals.  5-5 Jr. Vanessa Baisas added 12 points on four three point baskets.  Ashley Johnson also reached double figures with 10 points.
