Tates Creek coach Tina Winn started the following lineup: 5-6 So. Haley Blackburn, 5-8 Sr. Dominique Etling-Turner, 5-9 Sr. Katie Pippen, 5-5 Sr. Lexi Whaley, and 5-6 Sr. Oney Harrison. Lexington Catholic coach Scott True countered with 5-8 So. Rachel Blake, 5-8 Sr. Octavia Wilson, 5-6 So. Tori Pippen, 5-4 Sr. Sara Cawood, and 5-4 So. Bailey Browning.
Tates Creek trailed 45-38 after three quarters but outscored Lexington Catholic 30-16 in the final quarter to earn a 68-61 victory. The score was tied nine times and there were 12 lead changes in the game. Tates Creek shot 45.7%from the field including seven of 15 from the three point line. The Lady Commodores connected on 19 of 26 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 16 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 46% from the field including five of 14 from beyond the arc. The Lady Knights connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 13 Tates Creek turnovers.
Oney Harrison led Tates Creek with 28 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and three assists. Harrison was eight of 12 from the field including three of five from the three point line, and nine of 12 free throws. Katie Pippen added 20 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Dominique Etling-Turner recorded 16 points, three assists, and three steals. Lexi Whaley dished out six assists.
Octavia Wilson led Lexington Catholic with 28 points including three three point baskets and five assists. 5-9 So. Caroline Lynch added 13 points. Rachel Blake recorded eight points and seven rebounds.
