Lexington Catholic coach Scott True started the following lineup: 5-9 S0. Rachel Blake, 5-6 So. Tori Pippen, 5-9 So. Caroline Lynch, 5-2 So. Bailey Browning, and 5-4 Sr. Sara Cawood. (5-8 Sr. Octavia Wilson was not in the lineup tonight due to an injury). Montgomery County coach Janie Robinson countered with 5-10 Jr. Schyler Tipton, 5-10 Sr. Olivia Colliver, 6-1 Sr. Macie Spence, 5-6 Jr. Erica Rogers, and 5-6 Sr. Keria Lockett.
Lexington Catholic led 24-22 at halftime but Montgomery County pulled away in the second half to earn a 51-40 victory. There were eight lead changes and six ties in the game. Lexington Catholic only managed 22.7% from the field in the second half while Montgomery County shot 52.6% after the intermission. Montgomery County shot 47.7% from the field including one of 12 from the three point line. The Indians connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 16 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 29.8% from the field including six of 23 from beyond the arc. The Lady Knights connected on six of six free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored seven points off 11 Montgomery County turnovers.
Macie Spence led Montgomery County with 16 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Spence was seven of eight from the field and two of two from the free throw line. Schyler Tipton added 11 points and seven rebounds. Erica Rogers chipped in with nine points.
Rachel Blake led Lexington Catholic with 10 points and eight rebounds. Caroline Lynch added eight points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Bailey Browning recorded eight points and three assists.
