Mercy Academy coach Mark Evans started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Morgan Doherty, 5-8 So. Hannah Bewley, 6-0 So. Malerie Martin, 5-8 Fr. Erin Muthler, and 5-8 Sr. Whitney Hartlage.  Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 5-9 Jr. DaiJia Ruffin, 5-7 Sr. Kristin Matula, 5-10 Sr. Caroline Long, 5-3 So. Ashley Johnson, and 5-3So. Gretchen Samsel.

Mercy pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Sacred Heart by a score of 61-53.  There were three lead changes and eight ties in this game.  Sacred Heart was hampered by early foul woes but the score was still tied at 42-42 after three quarters.  Mercy pulled away in the closing minute to earn the victory.  Mercy shot 42.9% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 12 of 20 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 19 Sacred Heart turnovers.  Sacred Heart shot 35.3% from the field including four of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Valkyries connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Mercy turnovers.

Whitney Hartlage led Mercy with 25 points including three three point baskets and 10 of 10 from the free throw line.  Malerie Martin added 11 points and four steals.  Morgan Doherty chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds.

Gretchen Samsel led Sacred Heart with 16 points including two three point baskets.  DaiJia Ruffin added 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Ashley Johnson chipped in with nine points and five rebounds.
