Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. DaiJia Ruffin, 5-5 Jr. Vanessa Baisas, 5-10 Sr. Caroline Long, 5-3 So. Ashley Johnson, and 5-3 So. Gretchen Samsel. Bullitt East coach Chris Stallings countered with 5-9 Jr. Courtney Pfister, 5-7 Sr. Cady Cornell, 5-10 So. Kylee Willis, 5-4 Jr. Emily Fryman, and 5-7 Jr. Tyler Blain.
Bullitt East trailed 29-18 at halftime but rallied to defeat Sacred Heart 53-48. Bullitt East shot 41.3% from the field including two of 10 from the three point line. The Lady Chargers connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 17 Sacred Heart turnovers. Sacred Heart shot 41% from the field including three of 18 from beyond the arc. The Valkyries connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 18 Bullitt East turnovers.
5-7 8th grade Lindsey Duvall led Bullitt East with 11 points and eight rebounds. Courtney Pfister also scored 11 points. Taylor Blain added 10 points. Kylee Willis recorded six points and nine rebounds.
DaiJia Ruffin led Sacred Heart with 20 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and four steals. Gretchen Samsel and Ashley Johnson added nine and six points respectively.
