Tates Creek coach Tina Winn started the following lineup: 5-6 So. Haley Blackburn, 5-8 Sr. Dominique Etling-Turner, 5-9 Sr. Katie Pippen, 5-5 Sr. Lexi Whaley, and 5-6 Sr. Oney Harrison.  Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Sarah Bridenbaugh countered with 5-10 Sr. LaKeena Parks, 5-8 Sr. Lexus Edwards, 6-2 Jr. Brooke Todd, 5-4 Jr. Shakeema Jackson, and 5-4 Sr. Jordin Fender.

Paul L. Dunbar advanced in the tournament with a 78-63 victory over Tates Creek tonight.  Dunbar led 33-22 at halftime but  Tates Creek rallied to pull within four; 37-33.  Dunbar’s LaKeena Parks went to work in the paint scoring 12 points in the quarter to give Dunbar a little breathing room.  Dunbar shot 43.4% from the field including one of nine from the three point line.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 11 of 17 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 17 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 37.1% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Commodores connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Dunbar turnovers.

LaKeena Parks led Dunbar with 24 points and eight rebounds.  Lexus Edwards added 20 points and six rebounds.  Brooke Todd recorded 15 points, 16 rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Jordin Fender chipped in with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Katie Pippen led Tates Creek with 22 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.  Oney Harrison added 21 points and six rebounds.  Dominique Etling-Turner chipped in with 13 points and five rebounds.  Lexi Whaley pulled down six rebounds and dished out six assists.
