Ballard coach Chris Renner started the following lineup: 6-3 Fr. Malik Dow, 6-0 Sr. Lavonne Holland, 6-6 Jr. Kelan Martin, 5-9 Sr. Dontez Byrd, and 6-1 Jr. Quinten Snider.  Montgomery County coach Happy Osborne countered with 6-6 Sr. Omar Prewitt, 6-3 Jr. Darius Jones, 6-4 So. Chase Hall, 6-0 Sr. Tyler Jones, and 6-0 Jr. Bryan Wallace.

Kelan Martin scored 16 of Ballard’s final 18 points to lead the Bruins to a 59-55 victory over Montgomery County.  Ballard raced out to a an early 12-4 lead all scored by Malik Dow.  Dow went to the bench early with foul woes and Montgomery County fought back and actually led 52-51 with 2:48 minutes left in the game.  Ballard rallied behind Martin and Dow to earn the victory.  The score was tied three times and there were 12 lead changes in the game.

Ballard shot 39.3% from the field including two of 15 from the three point line.  The Bruins connected on nine of 18 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 16 Montgomery County turnovers.  Montgomery County shot 46.7% from the field including four of nine from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored four points off six Ballard turnovers.

Kelan Johnson led Ballard with 23 points and 14 rebounds.  Malik Dow added 14 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots in only 13 minutes of playing time.  Quinten Snider recorded eight points, four rebounds, and five assists.

Tyler Jones led Montgomery County with 15 points, four rebounds, and seven assists.  Omar Prewitt added 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots.  Bryan Wallace recorded 13 points and 6-1 Jr. Julian Piersawl added 10 points.  Chase Hall pulled down nine rebounds.
