Mercy coach Keith Baisch started the following lineup: 6-0 Fr. Elizabeth Anderson, 5-9 Jr. Kathryn Gross, 6-0 Jr. Malerie Martin, 5-5 So. Madi Woods, and 5-6 Jr. Hannah Bewley.  Eastern coach Josh Leslie countered with 5-8 Sr. Jade Spaulding, 5-8 So. Markei Porter, 6-0 Sr. Claire Hart, 5-4 Sr. Sydney Fone, and 5-9 Sr. Madison Raque.

Eastern led 68-52 after three quarters and held on for an 89-81 victory over Mercy in a high scoring shootout in the ‘ville tonight.  Eastern shot 48% from the field including 10 of 20 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagle connected on 30 of 45 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 26 Mercy turnovers.  Mercy shot 43.8% from the field including seven of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Jaguars connected on 24 of 32 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored seven points off 17 Eastern turnovers

Jade Spaulding led Eastern with 33 points including 15 of 18 from the free throw line and pulled down eight rebounds.  Madison Raque added 19 points including three three point baskets and pulled down nine rebounds.  5-10 Fr. Natalie Collins chipped in with 14 points including two three point baskets.

Malerie Martin led Mercy with 26 points including three three point baskets, 15 rebounds, and eight assists despite only playing 25:57 seconds and fouling out of the game.  Hannah Bewley added 13 points and Elizabeth Anderson chipped in with nine points.
