Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Sarah Cooley, 5-11 Jr. Dee Givens, 6-4 Jr. Ashanti Thomas, 5-7 Sr. Megumi Nagahiro, and 5-8 Sr. Ken’yale Demus.  Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 5-8 Fr. Rebecca Cook, 5-8 So. Dasia Kilbourne, 5-9 So. Malaka Frank, 5-4 Sr. Nannilena White, and 5-6 Fr. Princess Stewart.

Lafayette raced out to a 31-16 lead in the second quarter and held on for a 58-56 victory over Franklin County.  There were five lead changes and two ties in this game.  Lafayette controlled the boards (39-22) but Franklin County held a 24-6 advantage in three point points.  Lafayette shot 41.9% from the field including two of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 20 of 29 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 39.5% from the field including eight of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Flyers connected on 14 of 24 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Lafayette turnovers.

Sarah Cooley led Lafayette with 19 points and eight rebounds.  Dee Givens added 13 points, five rebounds, and six assists.  5-11 Fr. Kiara Pankins recorded 10 points and six rebounds.  Ken’yale Demus added nine points, six rebounds, and four assists.  Ashanti Thomas recorded seven points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Nannilina White led Franklin County with 15 points and five assists.  Dasia Kilbourne added 13 points including four three point baskets.  5-5 So. Anna Arrastia tallied 11 points including three three point baskets.  Malaka Frank also reached double figures with 10 points.  Rebecca Cook had an active stat line with five points, four rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots, and four steals.
