Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Sarah Bridenbaugh started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Nicole Armstrong, 5-5 Jr. Kristina Rosen, 6-2 Sr. Brooke Todd, 5-4 So. Ezhaunnai Ighodaro, and 5-4 Sr. Shakeema Jackson.  Lexington Catholic coach Scott True countered with 5-8 Jr. Rachel Blake, 5-9 Jr. Caroline Lynch, 5-10 Sr. Hannah Gadberry, 5-5 Jr. Bailey Browning, and 5-5 Sr. Suzanne Miller.

Paul Laurence Dunbar led by a score of 44-28 in the third quarter and held off a determined Lexington Catholic rally to earn a 58-54 victory.  Dunbar shot 38.3% from the field including six of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on16 of 22 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 18 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 39.5% from the field including five of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 11 Dunbar turnovers.

Shakeema Jackson led Dunbar with 16 points including two three point baskets and dished out four assists.  Brooke Todd added 14 points, 18 rebounds, and blocked five shots.  Ezhaunnai Ighodaro also scored 14 points.

Rachel Blake led Lexington Catholic with 18 points and nine rebounds.  Bailey Browning added 14 points.  Caroline Lynch chipped in with six points and five rebounds.  6-0 Fr. Mallie Cornett is returning from a season ending knee injury last season and continues to impress with six points and three steals in 10:21 minutes tonight.
