Scott County vs. Lexington Catholic (Girls)

Scott County coach Steve Helton started the following lineup: 5-9 Fr. Lauren Boehm, 5-7 Sr. Danielle DeFoor, 6-0 Sr. Tereka Guyn, 5-2 7th grader Juliette Smith, and 5-6 Sr. Audriana Christopher.  Lexington Catholic coach Scott True countered with 5-8 Jr. Rachel Blake, 5-9 Jr. Caroline Lynch, 5-10 Sr. Hannah Gadberry, 5-5 Jr. Bailey Browning, and 5-5 Sr. Suzanne Miller.

Scott County defeated Lexington Catholic 70-56 in a game in which both teams made a serious run.  Scott County outscored Lexington Catholic 21-7 in the second quarter to take a 34-19 halftime lead.  However, Lexington Catholic outscored Scott County 22-9 in the third quarter to pull within two; 43-41 at the end of three quarters.  Scott County outscored Lexington Catholic 27-15 in the final quarter to settle the issue.  The final surge by the Lady Cardinals was led by Danielle DeFoor (11 points) and Tereka Guyn (10 points) in the final quarter.

Scott County shot 55.3% from the field including six of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 12 of 20 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 16 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 33.3% from the field including eight of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on 18 of 26 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Scott County turnovers.

Danielle DeFoor led Scott County with 24 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Tereka Guyn added 21 points, six rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Lauren Boehm chipped in with 11 points and 12 rebounds.  Audriana Christopher recorded 11 points and eight assists.

Rachel Blake led Lexington Catholic with 15 points including nine of 12 free throws, five rebounds, and four assists.  Suzanne Miller added 11 points including three three point baskets.  Caroline Lynch chipped in with eight points.  Bailey Browning recorded seven points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.
