Perry County Central vs. Simon Kenton

 

Perry County Central coach Shannon Hoskins started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Tyler Fugate, 6-0 So. Matthew Turner, 6-7 Sr. Justin Johnson, 5-11 Jr. Austin Neace, and 5-11 So. Braxton Beverly.  Simon Kenton coach Trent Steiner countered with 6-3 Sr. Taylor Morrison, 6-3 Sr. Brenan Kuntz, 6-4 Jr. Matt Mullins, 6-2 Jr. Jaeger Pracht, and 6-3 Jr. Noah Robinson.

Perry County Central raced out to a 21-10 first quarter lead on their way to a 65-51 victory over Simon Kenton.  Perry County Central shot 50.9% from the field including two of eight from the three point line. The Commodores connected on seven of 13 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 20 Simon Kenton turnovers.  Simon Kenton shot 39.6% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Pioneers connected on seven of 15 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Perry County Central turnovers.

Braxton Beverly led Perry County Central with 23 points and seven assists.  Justin Johnson added 18 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, two blocked shots, and three steals.  6-3 Fr. Damon Tobler chipped in with 12 points.

Noah Robinson led Simon Kenton with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.  5-11 Sr. Alex Childers added 15 points on five three point baskets.

Chaminade College Preparatory School (MO) vs. Lexington Catholic

 

Chaminade coach Frank Bennett started the following lineup: 6-8 So. Jayson Tatum, 6-3 Sr. Grant Hollander, 6-7 So. Tyler Cook, 5-11 Sr. Garrett Roberts, and 6-1 So. Mike Lewis.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-6 Jr. Tanner Johnson, 6-3 Jr. Reese Ryan, 6-7 Sr. Robert Dence, 5-10 Jr. Michael Talbott, and 6-2 Jr. Jarod Griffin.

Chaminade defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 72-41.  Chaminade shot 48.2% from the field including three of 16 from the three point line.  The Red Devils connected on 15 of 15 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 36.55 from the field including three of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Knights missed their only free throw, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Chaminade turnovers.

Chaminade was led by Soph sensation Jayson Tatum who justified his lofty national reputation before an appreciative crowd including University of Kentucky coach John Calipari and his staff.  Tatum led Chaminade with 21 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots in a very controlled performance displaying an array of skills seldom seen in a player of his age. Mike Lewis added 18 points including two three point baskets.  Tyler Cook recorded 12 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Tanner Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 13 points and four rebounds.  Reese Ryan added 13 points and four assists.

Taylor County vs. Lincoln County

 

Taylor County coach Richard Gatewood started the following lineup: 6-3 Jr. Austin Webster, 6-3 So. Quentin Goodin, 6-5 Sr. Caleb Wiggington, 5-10 Fr. David Sloan, and 5-11 Fr. Ezra Oliver.  Lincoln County coach Jeff Jackson countered with 6-3 Jr. Jacob Conway, 6-1 Jr. Brandon Pittman, 6-2 Jr. Andrew Wilks, 5-9 Jr. Timmy Taylor, and 5-10 Jr. Neil Conley.

Lincoln County defeated Taylor County by a score of 65-56.  Lincoln County shot 43.1% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line.  The Patriots connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 15 Taylor County turnovers.  Taylor County shot 37% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 16 of 24 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored eight points off nine Lincoln County turnovers.

Jacob Conway led Lincoln County with 25 points and nine rebounds.  Brandon Pittman and Neil Conley added nine points each.  Timmy Taylor recorded eight points and 11 assists.  Andrew Wilks chipped in with seven points and nine rebounds.

Caleb Wiggington led Taylor County with 14 points, 16 rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Quentin Goodin added 11 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists.  Ezra Oliver added 11 points including three three point baskets.  Austin Webster recorded 10 points on five of five from the field.
