Lexington Christian Academy coach Brad Carter started the following lineup: 6-6 Jr. Matt Rose, 6-7 Jr. Drew Trimble, 6-5 Sr. Michael Young 5-10 Jr. John Stein, and 6-2 So. Trevor Hill.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Jr. Tanner Johnson, 6-3 Jr. Reese Ryan, 6-7 Sr. Robert Dence, 5-10 Jr. Michael Talbott, and 6-2 Jr. Jarod Griffin.

The third time proved to be the charm tonight as Lexington Christian Academy finally captured the victory with a thrilling 78-76 double overtime win over Lexington Catholic.  LCA led 53-41 after three quarters but Lexington Catholic rallied and tied the score 62-62 on two free throws by Reese Ryan with seconds remaining to force overtime.  LCA led 70-67 late in the first overtime but Lexington Catholic’s Tanner Johnson nailed a three pointer with four seconds remaining to tie the score at 70-70 to force a second overtime.  LCA’s Drew Trimble finally settled the issue with a layup with 12 seconds remaining to give the Eagles the 78-76 victory.

LCA shot 57.8% from the field including six of 13 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on 20 of 30 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored nine points off seven Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 40% from the field including seven of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on 21 of 28 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 13 LCA turnovers.

Matt Rose led LCA with 25 points including two three point baskets, nine rebounds, and four assists.  Michael Young added 20 points and five rebounds.  Young was eight of nine from the field and four of five from the free throw line.  Drew Trimble recorded 11 points.

Tanner Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 25 points including five three point baskets.  Reese Ryan added 15 points and 11 rebounds.  Jarod Griffin recorded 14 points.
