Henry Clay coach Eric Sanford started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Kerrigan Davis, 5-9 Sr. Kamari Boyd, 6-0 Jr. Hannah Young, 5-6 Jr. Nakyira Joyce, and 5-6 So. T’Laya Lyvers. Paul L. Dunbar coach Sara Bridenbaugh countered with 5-10 Jr. Nicole Armstrong, 5-5 Sr. Kristina Rosen, 6-2 Sr. Brooke Todd, 5-4 So. Ezzy Ighodaro, and 5-4 Sr. ShaKeema Jackson.
Dunbar trailed 25-24 at halftime but rallied in the second half for a 48-41 victory over Henry Clay. The score was tied six times and there were five lead changes in the game. Dunbar shot 30.8% from the field including one of 14 from the three point line. The Lady Bulldogs connected on 15 of 24 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 16 Henry Clay turnovers. Henry Clay shot 28.6% from the field including zero of 10 from beyond the arc. The Lady Blue Devils connected on five of six free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 13 Dunbar turnovers.
Brooke Todd recorded a triple-double tonight and led Dunbar with 18 points, 16 rebounds, and 12 blocked shots. ShaKeema Jackson added 16 points and eight rebounds. Ezzy Ighodaro chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.
T’Laya Lyvers led Henry Clay with 16 points and five rebounds. 5-6 Jr. Kennedy Coney added eight points. Kamari Boyd recorded seven points and 13 rebounds.
