Perry County Central coach Shannon Hoskins started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. John Toomer, 6-1 Sr. Tyler Fugate, 6-7 Sr. Justin Johnson, 5-11 So. Braxton Beverly, and 6-0 So. Matthew Turner. Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-3 Sr. Tony Martini, 6-1 Sr. Matt Murray, 7-1 So. Raekwon Long, 6-1 Sr. Teddy Ware, and 6-2 Sr. Trent Gilbert.
The score was tied 38-38 at halftime but Scott County outscored Perry County Central 27-14 in the third quarter on their way to an 86-78 victory. There were 11 lead changes and eight ties in the game. Scott County held a 27-6 advantage in three point points to negate a 17-8 second chance points advantage by Perry County Central. Scott County shot 49.2% from the field including nine of 23 from the three point line. The Cardinals connected on 13 of 15 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 14 Perry County Central turnovers. Perry County Central shot 49.2% from the field including two of 15 from beyond the arc. The Commodores connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 Scott County turnovers.
Trent Gilbert led Scott County with 33 points including five three point baskets. Teddy Ware added 19 points including four three point baskets. Toni Martini chipped in with 13 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, three blocked shots, and three steals. Raekwon Long recorded 10 points and five rebounds. Matt Murray added seven points, seven assists, and four steals.
Justin Johnson led Perry County Central with 36 points, 18 rebounds, and four steals. Braxton Beverly added 23 points. 6-4 Fr. Damon Tobler chipped in with nine points and five rebounds.
