Bryan Station vs. Scott County (Girls)

Bryan Station coach Shawn Ransom started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Lakeysha Stennis, 5-9 So. Jamayah Fields. 5-10 Sr. Victoria McCoy, 5-5 Jr. Zaria Elery, and 5-9 So. Destiny Cozart.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 6-0 Sr. Tereka Guyn, 5-6 Sr. Rachel Young, 6-0 Sr. Iman Guy, 5-3 7th grader Juliette Smith, and 5-6 Sr. Audriana Christopher.

Bryan Station took an early 19-7 lead but Scott County rallied to defeat the Defenders 63-60.  There were 11 lead changes and four ties in this game.  Scott County shot 42% from the field including eight of 18 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 10 points off seven Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 42.6% from the field including seven of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on seven of nine free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 14 Scott County turnovers.

Tereka Guyn led Scott County with 18 points and 13 rebounds.  5-8 So. Bailey Hawkins added 15 points on five three point baskets.  Audriana Christopher chipped in with 11 points and four assists.  5-7 8th grader Peyton Riddle recorded nine points on three three point baskets.  Iman Guy pulled down 13 rebounds.

Destiny Cozart led Bryan Station with 31 points including four three point baskets and four steals.  Lakeysha Stennis added 17 points including three three point baskets.  Jamayah Fields recorded eight points and seven rebounds.

Bryan Station (60) – Stennis 17, Fields 8, McCoy 2, Elery 2, Cozart 31.

 

Scott County (63) – Guyn 18, Young 2, Guy 2, Smith 0, Christopher 11, Ward 2, Hawkins 15, Riddle 9, D. DeFoor 2, Boehm 2.
