Whitefield Academy coach Norman Huebner started the following lineup: 5-7 Sr. Kelsey Blackwell, 5-7 Jr. Moriah Tedder, 5-8 Fr. Macey Prechtel, 5-3 7th grade Abigail Ritter, and 5-5 Sr. Rachel Powers. Sayre coach Scott Sutton countered with 5-7 Fr. Sydney Strup, 5-7 Sr. Grace Rahman, 6-3 Jr. Gabby Bowie, 5-2 So. Hannah Brady, and 5-7 Sr. Molly Manella.
Sayre raced out to 21-2 first quarter lead on their way to a 55-32 victory over Whitefield Academy. Sayre shot 38.3% from the field including two of eight from the three point line. The Lady Spartans connected on seven of 15 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 27 Whitefield Academy turnovers. Sayre held a 21-3 advantage in second effort points. Whitefield Academy shot 28.6% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc. The Lady Wildcats connected on four of 10 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 21 Sayre turnovers.
Molly Manella led Sayre with 20 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Gabby Bowie added 13 points, 12 rebounds, and seven blocked shots. Hannah Brady recorded eight points, seven rebounds, and three steals.
Moriah Tedder led Whitefield Academy with 11 points and six rebounds. Kelsey Blackwell added eight points.
