Mercy Academy vs. Marion County (Girls)

Mercy Academy coach Keith Baisch started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Kathryn Gross, 5-8 So. Erin Muthler, 6-0 Jr. Malerie Martin, 5-3 So. Jess Laemmle, and 5-6 Jr. Hannah Bewley.  Marion County coach Anthony Epps countered with 5-8 Sr. Colleen Rakes, 5-6 Sr. Evelyn Taylor, 6-1 Sr. Alexus Calhoun, 5-3 Fr. Haeli Howard, and 5-5 Sr. Timera Burton.

Mercy Academy defeated Marion County by a score of 56-51.  Mercy Academy shot 38% from the field including four of nine from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 20 of 24 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored nine points off 19 Marion County turnovers.  Marion County shot 40.9% from the field including seven of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on only eight of 22 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 18 Mercy turnovers.

Malerie Martin led Mercy with 14 points, 10 rebounds, four blocked shots, and three steals.  Hannah Bewley added 11 points.  5-6 So. Madi Woods chipped in with eight points on eight of 10 free throws.  Kathryn Gross added seven points.

Alexus Calhoun led Marion County with 15 points and 10 rebounds.  Haeli Howard added nine points and four assists.  5-2 Fr. Kaylee Wheatley chipped in with eight points.
