Madison Southern coach Summer Simmons started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Briana Lanham, 5-10 Jr. Kristen Hayes, 5-10 Jr. Rachel Ramey, 5-4 Jr. Kelley Freeman, and 5-6 Jr. Samantha Parms.  Berea coach Jennifer Cornett countered with 5-10 Fr. Alex Horn, 5-9 Fr. Conner Coyle, 5-10 Jr. Victoria Sexton, 5-5 Fr. Jordan Sandefur, and 5-7 Sr. Chase Fain.

Berea led 36-29 early in the final quarter but Madison Southern rallied for a 50-49 victory.  6-0 Fr. Marley Lawson only scored three points tonight for Madison Southern but her field goal and free throw with 27 seconds remaining in the game was the deciding margin in a very exciting hard fought contest with both teams leaving it all on the floor tonight.  The score was tied 10 times and there were eight lead changes in the contest.

Madison Southern shot 35.6% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored nine points off 10 Berea turnovers.  Berea shot 34% from the field including five of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Pirates connected on 10 of 17 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 Madison Southern turnovers.

Briana Lanham turned in a “monster’ performance tonight with 26 points and 21 rebounds.  Kristen Hayes added 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Jordan Sandefur led Berea with 17 points including four three point baskets and four rebounds.  Chase Fain finished up a distinguished career for the Lady Pirates and added 10 points.
