Madison Southern coach Shane Buttry started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Trevor Huff, 6-1 Sr. Devante Linville, 6-3 So. Griffin Gabbard, 5-9 Fr. Michael Jefferson, and 6-0 So. Tanner Kidwell. Berea coach Cameron Jackson countered with 6-3 Sr. Trey Terrill, 5-11 Sr. Caleb Goss, 6-0 Jr. Dustin Kates, 5-9 Jr. Austin Warford, and 5-11 Jr. Jarrel Tevis.
Madison Southern defeated Berea by a score of 87-59. Madison Southern shot 60.7% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 13 of 24 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 16 Berea turnovers. Berea shot 39.6% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc. The Pirates connected on 17 of 29 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored six points off nine Madison Southern turnovers.
Michael Jefferson led Madison Southern with 13 points, nine assists, and three steals. 5-9 So. Brandon Sargent added 13 points including three three point baskets. Tanner Kidwell chipped in with 12 points and 6-1 So. Stacy Burns recorded 10 points.
Dustin Kates led Berea with 11 points and four rebounds. Jarrel Tevis also scored 11 points. Trey Terrill recorded 10 points, five rebounds, and three assists. 6-1 So. Shyiem Alexander also scored 10 points and pulled down five rebounds.
