North Laurel realized that they would have to defend Clay County’s potent inside game but the Lady Tigers came out bombing away from the outside connecting on 10 of 17 from beyond the arc in a 68-37 victory. Clay County was 14 of 24 (58%) from 2-ppoint range and 10 of 17 from beyond the arc. The Lady Tigers connected on 10 of 19 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and committed three turnovers. North Laurel was 10 of 35 (29%) from 2-point range and four of 17 from beyond the arc. The Lady Jaguars connected on five of 11 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and committed nine turnovers.
5-10 So. Kelli Roberts led Clay County with 28 points including eight three point baskets. 5-10 Sr. Sara Robinson added 15 points and 13 rebounds. 5-5 Jr. Ajaycia Cotton chipped in with 13 points. 6-0 Jr. Courtney Woods recorded 12 points and 12 rebounds.
5-6 So. Kayla Bruner led North Laurel with 15 points. 5-7 8th grader Hannah Lawson and 5-3 8th grader Madison Shepherd each recorded seven points.
