Franklin-Simpson coach Joshua Matthews started the following lineup: 5-8 Jr. Canaysha Ervin, 5-7 Sr. Jenna Curtis, 6-0 Sr. Syndey Gooch, 5-2 Sr. Tiara Gamble, and 5-6 8th grader Keely Morrow. Bowling Green coach LaVonda Jackson countered with 5-10 So. Oneisha Turner, 5-8 Jr. Keely Vincent, 5-10 Sr. Makayla Gray, 5-7 So. Deja Moore, and 5-7 Jr. Gabrielle Pruitt.
Bowling Green pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Franklin-Simpson by a score of 64-56. Bowling Green shot 44.9% from the field including one of nine from beyond the arc. They connected on 19 of 33 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 25 Franklin-Simpson turnovers. Franklin-Simpson shot 38.2% from the field including six of 13 from beyond the arc. They connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored four points off 11 Bowling Green turnovers.
Oneisha Turner led Bowling Green with 26 points, eight rebounds, and eight steals. Gabrielle Pruitt added 11 points and five rebounds. Makayla Gray recorded 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
Jenna Curtis led Franklin-Simpson with 16 points. Syndey Gooch added 15 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Keely Morrow recorded 12 points and eight rebounds. 5-6 Jr. Megan Krantz chipped in with 11 points including three three point baskets.
