Ballard coach Frank Wright started the flowing lineup: 5-9 Sr. Kiana Richardson, 5-7 Sr. Aundrea Matchen, 5-10 Sr. Javonna Layfield, 5-3 8^th grader Briana Mishler, and 5-6 Jr. Alex Martin.  Male coach Champ Ligon countered with 5-11 Fr. Logan Calvert, 5-7 Jr. Taylor Jackson, 6-1 So. I’Liyah Green, 5-5 Jr. Denise Buckel, and 5-2 Sr. Alex Gainey.

Ballard defeated Male by a score of 58-31.  Ballard shot 56.5% from the field including one of five from the three point line.  The Lady Bruins connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 21 Male turnovers.  Male shot 23.6% from the field including one of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored five points off 19 Ballard turnovers.

Javonna Layfield led Ballard with 21 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, three blocked shots, and three steals.  Kiana Richardson added 10 points and eight rebounds.  Briana Mishler chipped in with nine points.

I’Liyah Green led Male with 10 points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Logan Calvert added seven points and six rebounds.
