Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-8 So. Kendyl Powell, 5-8 Fr. Caroline Bennett, 5-9 Jr. Aisha Conwell, 5-11 So. Kiara Pankins, and 6-0 Sr. Dee Givens. Tates Creek coach Tina Winn countered with 5-5 Jr. Shaytara Wilson, 5-5 Jr. Kiauri Shannon, 5-6 Sr. Myra Brown, 5-2 Jr. Tyanne Bentley, and 5-3 So. J’Lyn Martin.
Lafayette defeated Tates Creek by a score of 79-42. Lafayette shot 45.6% from the field including one of 10 from the three point line. The Lady Generals connected on 16 of 35 free throws, pulled down 59 rebounds, and scored 35 points off 28 Tates Creek turnovers. Tates Creek shot 31.9% from the field including two of 20 from beyond the arc. The Lady Commodores connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored nine points off 18 Lafayette turnovers.
Dee Givens led Lafayette with 28 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and six steals. Kiara Pankins added 14 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Aisha Conwell recorded 10 points and 12 rebounds. Kendyl Powell chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
J’Lyn Martin led Tates Creek with 12 points. 5-3 So. Odessi Brown added 10 points. Kiauri Shannon chipped in with nine points.
