Covington Holy Cross coach Kes Murphy started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Abby Hassert, 5-5 So. Aleah Tucker, 6-2 Sr. Ally Mayhaus, 5-5 Jr. Dajah McClendon, and 5-6 Sr. Deja Turner. Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-9 Jr. Alisha Conwell, 5-8 So. Kendyl Powell, 6-4 Sr. Ashanti Thomas, 6-0 So. Kiara Pankins, and 6-0 Sr. Dee Givens.
Covington Holy Cross defeated Lafayette by a score of 52-44. Holy Cross shot 36.7% from the field including six of 17 from the three point line. The Indians connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 31.9% from the field including one of 10 from beyond the arc. The Lady Generals connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored eight points off seven Holy Cross turnovers.
Deja Turner led Holy Cross with 19 points including four three point baskets. Ally Mayhaus added 11 points and six rebounds. Aleah Tucker recorded eight points, five rebounds, and four assists. Dajah McClendon chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Ashanti Thomas led Lafayette with 17 points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots. Dee Givens added 15 points and seven rebounds. Kendyl Powell recorded seven points and seven rebounds.
