Southwestern coach Stephen Butcher started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Samantha Fitzgerald, 5-11 Sr. Dylana Fothergill, 6-1 Jr. Elisabeth Latham, 5-5 Sr. Destiny Molden, and 5-9 Sr. Adison Corder. Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 6-0 Sr. Dee Givens, 5-9 Jr. Aisha Conwell, 6-4 Sr. Ashanti Thomas, 5-2 So. Lataya Winn, and 6-0 So. Kiara Pankins.
Lafayette led 26-25 at halftime but Southwestern outscored the Lady Generals 33-19 after the intermission to earn a 58-45 victory. Southwestern shot 52.8% from the field including six of 13 from the three point line. The Warriors connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored eight points off 13 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 36% from the field including one of 10 from beyond the arc. The Lady Generals connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored nine points off 16 Southwestern turnovers.
Adison Corder led Southwestern with 19 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and three assists. 5-7 Sr. Brittany Combs added 12 points including three three point baskets. Samantha Fitzgerald recorded nine points and four rebounds. Dylana Fothergill chipped in with eight points and three rebounds. Elisabeth Latham added eight points and five rebounds.
Kiara Pankins led Lafayette with 18 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Dee Givens added 12 points. Ashanti Thomas recorded 11 points and eight rebounds. Aisha Conwell also pulled down eight rebounds.
