Lafayette vs. Boyle County (Girls)

Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Dee Givens, 5-9 Jr. Aisha Conwell, 6-4 Sr. Ashanti Thomas, 5-1 So. Lataya Winn, and 5-11 So. Kiara Pankins.  Boyle County coach Greg Edwards countered with 5-9 Sr. Kalin Bottoms, 5-8 Jr. Marlee Smith, 5-10 So. Emmie Harris, 5-5 Jr. Allison Hall, and 5-6 Fr. Danielle Roney.

Lafayette defeated Boyle County by a score of 57-44.  Lafayette shot 44.2% from the field including three of eight from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 16 of 22 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 16 Boyle County.  Boyle County shot 31.3% from the field including four of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rebels connected on 10 of 19 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 19 Lafayette turnovers.

Dee Givens led Lafayette with 19 points, four assists, and four steals.  Kiara Pankins added 16 points and 13 rebounds.  Ashanti Thomas recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Emmie Harris led Boyle County with 23 points including three three point baskets ,eight rebounds, and six steals.  Kalin Bottoms added eight points and seven rebounds.
