Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 6-0 So. Mallie Cornett, 5-10 So. Lindsey Johns, 5-9 Sr. Ravin Cain, 5-5 Jr. Emily Willoughby, and 5-8 So. Kasi Schneid. Clay County coach James Burchell countered with 5-8 Jr. Kelli Roberts, 5-7 Jr. Kashia Jackson, 6-0 Sr. Courtney Woods, 5-5 Sr. Ajaycia Cotton, and 5-6 7th Grade Kaylee Mathis.
Clay County took a 19-9 first quarter lead on their way to a 58-39 victory over Madison Central. Clay County shot 52.4% from the field including three of eight from the three point line. The Lady Tigers connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Madison Central turnovers. Madison Central shot 30.4% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc. The Lady Indians connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Clay County turnovers.
Ajaycia Cotton led Clay County with 17 points, eight assists, and four steals. Courtney Woods also scored 17 points pulled down six rebounds. Kelli Roberts recorded 12 points and eight rebounds.
Lindsey Johns led Madison Central with 15 points including three three point baskets. Mallie Cornett pulled down seven rebounds.
