Jackson County coach Brian K. Harris started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Cierra Crowe, 5-10 8th Grade Sara Mulligan, 5-10 8th Grade Alexis Creech, 5-5 Sr. Kelsey Belt, and 5-4 Fr. Haley Adkins. Sayre coach Scotty Sutton countered with 5-6 Fr. Dee Dee Wheeler, 5-4 So. Ellie Alford, 6-3 Sr. Gabby Bowie, 5-2 Jr. Hannah Brady, and 5-4 Sr. Meg Croney-Clark.
Sayre raced out to a 19-5 first quarter lead on their way to a 51-25 victory over Jackson County. Sayre shot 42% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line. The Lady Spartans connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 25 Jackson County turnovers. Jackson County shot 23.1% from the field including one of 13 from beyond the arc. The Lady Generals connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 23 Sayre turnovers.
Gabby Bowie led Sayre with 20 points, six rebounds, eight blocked shots, and four steals. Dee Dee Wheeler added 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and four steals.
Alexis Creech led Jackson County with six points. Cierra Crowe added five points.
